Circuit Breaker

components

A circuit breaker is a safety device installed in an electrical panel that automatically shuts off (trips) a circuit when it detects excessive current flow, such as from an overload or short circuit. Unlike fuses, which must be replaced after they blow, circuit breakers can be reset and reused. Each breaker is rated for a specific amperage (such as 15A or 20A) and protects the wiring in its circuit from overheating and potentially causing a fire.
