Contactor

components

A contactor is a heavy-duty electrically operated switch designed for switching large electrical loads. It works on the same principle as a relay — an electromagnetic coil controls a set of contacts — but contactors are built for higher current ratings (20A to thousands of amps) and include arc suppression features. They are commonly used for motor starters, HVAC systems, and industrial machinery.
