Current

Current is the flow of electrical charge (electrons) through a conductor, measured in amperes (A), commonly called amps. It flows when voltage pushes electrons through a circuit that has a complete path. In the water analogy, current is like the flow rate of water through a pipe — higher pressure (voltage) and lower resistance result in more current. Current is what actually does work in a circuit and is also what causes injury during electrical shock.
