Diode

components

A diode is a semiconductor component that allows current to flow in only one direction — from anode (+) to cathode (−). In forward bias, current flows with a small voltage drop (about 0.7V for silicon diodes). In reverse bias, current is blocked. Diodes are used in rectifiers (converting AC to DC), circuit protection, voltage regulation, and as indicator lights (LEDs).
