Transformer

components

A transformer is a device that changes AC voltage levels using electromagnetic induction. It consists of two coils (primary and secondary) wound around a shared magnetic core. The voltage ratio equals the turns ratio between the coils. Step-up transformers increase voltage; step-down transformers decrease it. Transformers only work with AC and are essential to the power grid, phone chargers, doorbells, and industrial equipment.
