Watt

measurement

A watt (W) is the unit of electrical power — the rate at which electrical energy is used or produced. Named after James Watt, who improved the steam engine. Calculated as voltage times current (P = V × I). A typical LED bulb uses 8–15W, a microwave uses 600–1,200W, and an electric oven can use 2,000–5,000W.
